The Supreme People's Court recently held a conference on the construction of international commercial courts at the National Judges College. Representatives from 12 international commercial courts nationwide shared their experiences at the conference, and more than 340 representatives from courts across the country engaged in foreign-related commercial trials participated in the event.
At the conference, Judge Gao Jing, on behalf of the Beijing International Commercial Court (BICC), an affiliate of the Beijing No 4 Intermediate People's Court, delivered a speech titled Taking Multiple Measures to Build a Preferred Location for Resolving Foreign-Related Commercial Disputes. She introduced the basic information on the court, including its jurisdiction limits and the number of cases it has handled, and shared with other participants the major achievements and experiences of the court over the past year and more from the five aspects of court construction, professional adjudication, institutional norms, innovative mechanisms, and talent cultivation. She also expounded on the future direction for the court's work. Her speech was highly praised by the participants.
The BICC will concentrate on the goal of building a preferred location for resolving foreign-related commercial disputes and improving theoretical research and judicial practices in foreign-related commercial trials based on research, so as to provide high-quality judicial guarantees for the construction of Beijing’s high-level “Two Zones”, which are a national comprehensive demonstration zone for expanding opening-up in the services sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
