A research report from the Beijing International Commercial Court (BICC), which is affiliated with the Beijing Fourth Intermediate People's Court (BFIPC), won the second prize in a competition of outstanding research report on implementing the Foreign Investment Law and protecting the rights and interests of foreign investors organized by the Supreme People's Court. The report, written by a judge assistant at the BICC, focused on optimizing the management of trial processes for commercial cases related to foreign investment.
A total of 14 reports were awarded in the competition. The report submitted by the BICC is based on a comprehensive analysis of cases involving foreign-funded enterprises since the implementation of the Foreign Investment Law. In order to address the issue of prolonged duration in handling cases related to foreign investment, the report proposes scientific and standardized methods for trial of such cases following an analysis of 73 key steps in case handling to enhance the quality and efficiency of the judiciary, thereby supporting higher-level opening-up.
The BICC has always emphasized the deep integration of judicial practice and theoretical research to refine foreign-related trials, enhance judicial effectiveness, and strengthen credibility. These efforts aim to help create a top-class business environment that is market-oriented, rule-based and up to international standards.
