Delegation of judges from Arab countries visits BFIPC

A delegation of judges from Arab countries, who are attending a training program organized by the National Judges College, visited the Beijing Fourth Intermediate People's Court (BFIPC). The delegation was hosted by Li Yingxin, vice-president of the BFIPC, and Ma Jun, chief judge of the Beijing International Commercial Tribunal (BICT), who joined them for a discussion.

The 29-member delegation visited the BFIPC's Case Filing and Litigation Service Center, the One-Stop Diversified International Commercial Dispute Resolution Center, the BICT, the Judges Training Center and the library, gaining a comprehensive overview of the BFIPC's innovative achievements in modernizing its operations.

They also observed the intelligent service machine, bilingual website readers and bilingual trial systems, and experienced firsthand the intelligent litigation service system and bilingual interpretation system used during trials, expressing high appreciation of the BFIPC's innovative practices in intelligent and foreign-related judicial services.

Following the tour, a discussion was held at the Judges Training Center. Li extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She provided a brief overview of the BFIPC's establishment, organizational structure and scope of jurisdiction. Both sides engaged in discussions on topics such as electronic service of process, the role of foreign mediators in dispute resolution and how internet court hearings ensure information security.

Representatives of the delegation praised the BFIPC's judicial achievements and applications of advanced technologies, noting that they fully demonstrated the rapid development of judicial modernization in China.

In her concluding remarks, Li said that the visit of the Arab delegation not only promoted mutual understanding, mutual judicial trust and collaboration, but also bridged the gaps between different legal systems and cultures. She said she sincerely hoped that this visit would serve as an opportunity to jointly promote the sustainable development of the rule of law.
